Benchmark is a Westchester based, New York Mortgage Broker providing mortgage financing in New York and Connecticut for Single Family, Co-op, Condo, Second Home and 2-4 Family properties through our many lenders. As a mortgage broker, we have a wholesale relationship with multiple lenders (local, regional and national) enabling us to offer hundreds of programs and rates the same or less than going to the banks directly. In addition, you get the access to our knowledgable staff and the personal service we provide. We are more than just Great-Rates !!! A Mortgage Broker arranges loans that are closed by a mortgage banker or bank that we select to fund the loan. A "direct lender" closes the loan in their own name. The loan is then typically sold to their investor. A mortgage broker is NOT a "middle man". We perform most of the work to get approved, clear conditions, get to closing and therefore receive discounts from our many lenders. We select and coordinate with the closing attorney(in New York), credit and appraisal companies. We do provide more disclosure to you, the consumer, than a direct lender does regarding fees and income. A direct lender would lead you to believe that broker fees are in addition to what they charge, but is that really true? When you look closely at what you actually pay, you will see this is definately not true. We will disclose all fees including what we are paid outside of closing, a direct lender does not have to disclose these outside fees. Why should I use Benchmark? The people at Benchmark are experienced mortgage professionals. Mortgages are our only business. If you have problems with the IRS, do you go to your dentist for help? No, you go to your accountant. If you have a medical problem, do you ask your letter carrier? No, you find a medical doctor with a speciality to address you specific concern. For a mortgage, you want to work with an experienced mortgage professional and Benchmark, as a specialist, is your best chioce! After you close, we will still be here to answer your questions.
